Alesandro Ciampa's family lost their appeal to the Health Services Appeal and Review Board, in their attempt to force OHIP to pay for the little boy's potentially life-changing surgery in the U.S.

An Ontario family is standing up to OHIP in the first day of their appeal, after it denied funding for their seven-year-old son to get a surgery in the U.S. they say could be life changing.

According to several families with children who have cerebral palsy, no specialist will sign the forms necessary for OHIP to cover a crucial surgery for Ontario patients in the U.S.
