2 women killed, man charged in double homicide in Longueuil, Que.: police

Two women are dead and a man has been charged with murder after police found the bodies of the accused’s mother and grandmother in a Longueuil apartment on Wednesday.

Local authorities say Michael Lominy, 30, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder on Thursday in connection with the deaths of the 67-year-old and 84-year-old.

Officers confirmed the family relationship between the man and the two victims, and said he was known to police before the incident.

Emergency services received a 911 call at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday and found both bodies in an apartment on Desormeaux Boulevard on Montreal’s south shore.

The suspect was arrested some time after and met with investigators in the evening.

The investigation into the case is being done by the Longueuil police (SPAL) major crimes unit.
