Downtown CTrain station reopened following suspected stabbing, 1 in custody

Calgary Transit said in a post on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, that the Eighth Street LRT station has reopened after being temporarily closed for a police investigation.

Calgary police confirmed to Global News that an altercation happened around 5 a.m. and a man used a help phone at the CTrain station to call for help.

Calgary Transit called EMS and the man was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition from what police said they believe was a stabbing.

Police said, using CCTV footage from the CTrain station, they were able to get a description of the suspect who was tracked through Century Gardens Park and arrested.
