Manitoba kidnapping suspect arrested, RCMP say

Police in northwestern Manitoba have arrested a man in connection to an alleged kidnapping.

RCMP at the Cranberry Portage detachment were called just before 6 a.m. on July 4, about the possible abduction of a 29-year-old woman. They said she was taken by Rory Thomas, a 29-year-old man.

The woman was safely located, uninjured, near Cold Lake Tuesday afternoon. The suspect was located by officers on Wednesday morning. He was taken into custody without incident and the charges remain pending.

Anyone with information is asked to call RCMP immediately if they spot anything suspicious.
