SASKATOON – Come Grey Cup Sunday, separate conference rooms at TCU Place will become one giant sea of green in a party zone and that’s just the top floor.
TCU has hosted Grey Cup parties before but nothing to this extent; 2,500 members of Rider Nation are expected.
“We’ve got two parties so I think right off the bat there’s going to be more people here and I think the words out there that this is going to be the place to go,” said Gerard Cullen, TCU Place theatre sales manager.

Local radio stations are helping host parties and fans are encouraged to come early.
In fact, Riderville North will kick off for Saskatoon the night before the big game.
“I think the unique opportunity with Riderville North is that it allows this area of the province to really solidify that role that we play with Rider Nation and allow us to take more of a stake in our team,” said Festival Chair Cynthia Block.
The Riderville North Grey Cup Festival is the biggest one being held in the Bridge City and hometown band The Sheepdogs will headline the cabaret. Tickets are still available.
Bars around the city don’t really need to promote their Grey Cup parties, the party is coming to them.
“We’re getting calls weeks, months in advance for seating for our rooms and we barely have to do anything for this event,” said JD Blakley, from Red Zone Premium Sports Bar.
Fans took to the streets in Saskatoon after the Saskatchewan Roughriders last won the Grey Cup in 2007.
Imagine what the city, the province, will be like if the Riders seal the deal on home turf this upcoming Sunday.
