An 18-year-old suspect was arrested Wednesday afternoon and remains in custody.

The victim was treated for her injuries and later moved to hospital in Winnipeg.

“We can gladly report now she’s in stable condition, but she’s going to have some matters to take care of for quite a while now in relation to the injuries,” said RCMP Sgt. Paul Manaigre. “The injuries were quite severe.”

Wasagaming RCMP officers continue to investigate with the help of the Mounties’ major crimes unit.
