In an update on Tuesday evening, police said the woman was 29 years old.

“What I can tell you is that there was a truck that was on the ramp going from Bloor Street down to Mount Pleasant and a pedestrian was crossing from the north side of the street to the south side and at some point the pedestrian was struck in that area,” Kulik said.

Police said in their evening update that the driver of the tow truck didn’t stop at a stop sign and struck the woman while she was walking in the crosswalk.

Kulik said the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.
