Man on e-scooter seriously injured after being hit by vehicle in Toronto’s north end

Toronto Police say a man riding an e-scooter has critical injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Toronto on Thursday morning.

The collision happened at around 6:25 a.m. in the Leslie Street and Steeles Avenue area, police said.

Initially, police called the victim a pedestrian but have since updated that it was in fact a man driving an electric scooter.

Images from Global News show a light-coloured vehicle and a black damaged e-scooter at the scene.

A man in his 60s was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition, paramedics said.

The driver remained at the scene, police said.

Part of the area was closed for the investigation.
