WINNIPEG – An electrical fire destroyed Wojcik’s Crematorium on Friday.
Emergency crews were called to the building on Wilkes Avenue near Hall Road in Headingley just after 8 p.m. The building was completely on fire by the time crews arrived on scene.

Not many people were allowed close enough to see the full extent of the damage before being escorted away by police.
Global News tried to contact Wojcik’s Funeral Chapel for an interview on Saturday, but calls were not returned.
RCMP and the Manitoba Officer of the Fire Commissioner were able to confirm predeceased remains awaiting cremation were discovered at the site.
The building was completely destroyed by the fire. Damage is estimated at $1 million.
