EDMONTON – WestJet will launch non-stop weekly service from Edmonton to Orlando Dec. 18.
Edmonton International Airport CEO Reg Milley said it was exciting news as Orlando is one of the most-requested route additions.
“We’re excited to welcome this key leisure destination to EIA’s growing family of more than 50 non-stop cities,” said Milley. “Now it’s up to Edmontonians to ensure the success of the new route.”
It’s important to choose non-stops like Orlando or one of WestJet’s other U.S. non-stop destinations to ensure the great U.S. service is maintained, he said.
The airline is offering an introductory fare of $199 each way. Hugh Dunleavy, WestJet executive vice-president, strategy and planning, said the new service solidifies WestJet as the carrier offering the most non-stop destinations from Edmonton.
The airline also operates non-stop service from Edmonton to other sun destinations, including Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Palm Springs, Maui, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Montego Bay.
The Orlando flights leave Edmonton at 12:45 a.m., arriving at 7:41 a.m. Return flights leave at 8:35 a.m., arriving at 12:27 p.m.
