Ontario Provincial Police in Amherstview have confirmed a vehicle left the roadway at Bath Road and County Road 6 and entered the water after 10:00 a.m. Friday morning.
The Technical Collision Investigation and Reconstruction Unit was called to the scene to help with the investigation , while the Underwater Search and Recovery Unit arrived on the scene in the late afternoon to assist L&A County OPP.

Loyalist Fire and EMS were initially on scene assisting. Loyalist Township officials confirm to Global News that the crew of the Amherst Island ferry were the first marine unit on the scene to assist with the initial search.
