Man arrested after Brampton stabbing sent 1 to hospital

Police have arrested a man after a confrontation that reportedly led to a stabbing in Brampton, Ont., overnight.

Peel Regional Police said a confrontation was reported around 11:30 p.m. on Saturday night in the area of Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue. A man was stabbed in the area, prompting a heavy police presence.

Officers said the male victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He was stabilized and is expected to survive.

A man was in custody after the incident, police said. Anyone with information or footage is asked to contact police.
