Calgary police clear man in sex assault investigation

CALGARY – Police have cleared a man after releasing CCTV images of him in relation to a sexual assault at a northwest Fabutan.

The attack happened on May 21st, 2013 at the tanning salon located at 5005 Dalhousie Drive N.W.

The victim says she was working when a man came in around 8:30 p.m. and asked for a key to the washroom. He used the restroom, and then left the location.

When she closed the salon at 9 p.m., the victim entered a stairwell and was confronted by the same man from before.

Police say the victim was physically and sexually assaulted, but fought back and made an escape.

Originally, police had released CCTV photos to the public, asking for anyone who knew the man pictured to contact them – saying he may have information on the assault.

However, police now say the person pictured had no connection to the incident.

Police continue to search for a suspect in the incident, who they describe as between the ages of 30 and 50-years-old with brown hair and blue eyes.

He has a medium build and is approximately 5’9” and was wearing a white T-shirt with black lettering, jeans and white shoes.
