Kingston Police investigate murder of an 88-year-old in Glenburnie

Kingston Police is investigating a "sudden death" that took place Monday morning on McKendry Road in Glenburnie, just north of the city. – Nov 15, 2022

Kingston Police are investigating a homicide of an 88-year-old man at a home in the 2100 block of McKendry Road, in the Glenburnie area of the city of Kingston.

Police began the investigation on Monday of what was initially deemed a sudden death.

On Tuesday police released a statement notifying the public that it had been updated to a homicide investigation.

According to Police the next of kin has been notified.

The deceased man, 88-year-old Jahzerah Berndt, lived alone at the McKendry Road residence north of Highway 401.

The scene remains secured at this location as the investigation continues and no one has been arrested in relation to the incident.

The Kingston Police major crime unit is still appealing to the public for any information related to this incident.
