Two people were taken to hospital and a tow truck driver is lucky to be alive after a crash on the Perimeter Highway Friday morning.
Just after 6 a.m., RCMP say a semi jacknifed on the Perimeter near Portage Avenue. A tow truck arrived to assist and parked behind the jacknifed truck, when another semi came from behind and slammed the tow truck and the jacknifed semi.
The driver of the tow truck, who was directing traffic, was able to spot the oncoming semi and move out of the way just in time.
Both semi drivers were taken to hospital in stable condition.
