Multiple alarm blaze destroys barns in Flamborough: Hamilton Fire

The Hamilton Fire Department say a multiple alarm blaze that engulfed two large barns in rural Flamborough at Regional Road 97 near Kirkwall Road on Thursday is not considered suspicious.

Firefighters have yet to estimate the dollar value of the loss but say the barns, a number of vehicles, hay bails and significant quantities of hand sanitizer were destroyed in the incident.

Volunteer crews from eight different nearby municipalities were called in to aid in fighting the blaze which continued right through Thursday night.

The Ministry of the Environment as well as the Hamilton Conservation Authority and Grand River Conservation Authority have been notified about the blaze.

The Office of the Fire Marshal was also notified based on the size and nature of the fire and the damage.

No injuries have been reported.
