Two teachers who performed a lap dance in front of students at a Winnipeg school gym in February were paid for the first two weeks of their suspension, then suspended without pay starting in March.
Winnipeg School Division trustee Mike Babinsky says the mother of the division’s human resources director died Feb. 22, just as the division launched an investigation into the incident at Churchill High School.
When the director returned to work the following week, the two teachers were called in on March 2 and 3, "and told you’re now suspended without pay," Babinsky said.
Teachers Chrystie Fitchner and Adeil Ahmed have been suspended since performing the dance, including simulated oral sex, at a school spirit event.
A video of the incident became an Internet sensation.
