Students and staff at Kwantlen Polytechnic University in Surrey, B.C., have been given the all-clear, after being asked to shelter in place on Thursday afternoon.
In a message posted to Twitter, the university said Surrey RCMP resolved a “potential threat,” and that classes would resume at 4 p.m.
In its own tweet, Surrey RCMP said it had determined the threat to the university’s Newton campus was unfounded with no risk to public safety.
Earlier in the day, Mounties had said officers received “information of a potential imminent threat” to the campus.
Police did not elaborate on the nature of the threat.
