Const. Jay Murray told 680 CJOB that seeing such a high number is concerning.

“There’s somewhat a reflection on the level of violence that we’re seeing,” Murray said.

“The nature of homicides is that they’re also partially random. To have a homicide count in the 40s is concerning, and something we don’t like to see.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the homicide unit at 204-986-6508 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
