EDMONTON – Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi was true to his word Monday; sporting an Edmonton Oil Kings jersey after losing a bet to Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel.
Nenshi donned the jersey for council meetings on Monday in Calgary.
The two mayors made a wager during this spring’s WHL Eastern Conference Final between the Oil Kings and the Calgary Hitmen. Edmonton went on to win Game Seven with a score of 2-0; earning a spot in the WHL Championship Series.
Edmonton’s mayor Stephen Mandel replied to Nenshi’s tweet, saying “Looks great on you! Thanks for playing!”
