Man taken to trauma centre after stabbing in Toronto’s west end

Toronto police are investigating a stabbing near Willowridge Road and Eglinton Avenue West.

Emergency crews were called to a building in the area just before 10:30 p.m. Friday evening.

Police said on Twitter that a victim was located with very serious injuries.

Toronto paramedics told Global News that a man in his 20s was taken to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition.

Police initially said the man was believed to have been shot, but upon assessment at the hospital, it was determined that he had been stabbed.

Officers closed the area around the building for the investigation.

Anyone with information was asked to call police or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-8477.
