Investigators say a leak from the collision near Highway 56 at Golf Club Road between a dump truck and a tanker truck with about 10,000 litres of fuel is the issue.

Assistant Deputy Chief Ryan Coburn told Global News Hamilton Fire’s Hazardous Materials team were called out the scene around 8:30 a.m.

“On site estimates approximately 500-1000 litres of fuel was released. HFD crews quickly contained the spill and placed absorbent booms in the ditch to contain the fuel,” Coburn said.
