There won’t be relief from the heat anytime soon in the London, Ont., region, according to the latest warnings from Environment Canada and the Middlesex-London Health Unit.
The national weather agency issued a heat warning on Monday for London, along with Komoka, Strathroy and Parkhill, as well as eastern and western parts of Middlesex County.
The health unit issued its own heat warning late Monday afternoon, which will come into effect Tuesday and is expected to lift Thursday morning.
The MLHU issues heat warnings when Environment Canada calls for temperatures of 31 C or higher with an overnight low of 20 C or higher for two consecutive days or when the forecast calls for humidex values of 40 or higher for two days in a row.

Environment Canada says the sweltering temperatures that cooked up the local forecast over the weekend are expected to linger throughout the workweek.
Forecasters say daytime highs from Monday to Thursday should range between 30 C and 32 C31 C, with humidex values ticking even higher between 37 and 40.
The nighttime lows are expected to drop to near 21 C.
The hot and humid weather can also bring deteriorating air quality, potentially bringing the Air Quality Index into the high-risk category.
