LAVAL – There is finally a name for the Laval mother linked to this week’s murder-suicide plot.
She’s 35-year-old Ezzahra Ouzdou.
The Moroccan-born woman now faces serious prison time in her adopted country.
Today at the Laval Courthouse, Ouzdou was arraigned on seven charges including the attempted murder of her 7-year-old daughter on Wednesday.
Police say the woman and her child were found in the basement of their Verone Street home unconscious.
An open bottle of prescription pills were found nearby.

The young girl and mother are recovering in hospital.
Police say they are out of danger.
“The doctors took the tubes out. The young girl can breathe on her own now,” said Constable Nathalie Lorrain.
“She is conscious. It’s looking very good now and also for the mother.”
On Wednesday, police told reporters Ezzahra Ouzdou was suffering from a form of depression.
Neighbours say she recently gave birth to a fourth child.
Many believe she may have been dealing with postpartum depression.
“What ends up happening, they fall into this deep depression where they do things that can be harmful to their children,” said clinical psychologist Steven Schachter.
“In fact they sometime act in a psychotic manner. In other words, they end up distorting reality in their minds.”
Prosecutors have also charged the mother with assaulting two of her other children with a weapon.
Court documents say her twin sons were assaulted over the last two years beginning in September 2011.
