MONTREAL – The spring of 2012, as many Montrealers probably remember, was marred by the chaotic and sometimes violent student protests.
Former Parti Québécois cabinet minister and Bloc Québécois MP, Serge Ménard was appointed to head an investigation into the protests earlier this summer.
Now, the commission is armed with more than 500 testimonials, 15 reports and multiple case studies to determine what are the limits to the right of peaceful protest.
Public consultations will begin in Montreal during the week of September 23.
Ménard said he is expecting full cooperation from the students, especially those who were leaders during the demonstrations.
The Montreal police have also been asked to submit all their records.
