Hamilton police investigate after body found in water near Chedoke Creek

Hamilton police say the body of a man found in the waters of Chedoke Creek on Sunday morning has not yet been identified.

Investigators say the discovery was made around 10:30 a.m. on July 18 by residents near the entrance to Kay Drage Park in Hamilton.

After a post-mortem exam by the city’s coroner, it’s believed the circumstances surrounding the cause of death are “suspicious.”

“At this time, police have confirmed that the body located is that of a male and it has been in the water for a few days but no longer than a week,” Hamilton police said in a statement on Tuesday.

The man is described as five foot ten inches with short brown hair and is possibly in his 30s, according to detectives.
