Global News is projecting that NDP candidate Taylor Bachrach has been re-elected in the riding of Skeena-Bulkley Valley.
With 190 of 224 polls reporting as of 11:10 p.m., Bachrach was comfortably out front, with 42.9 per cent of ballots.
Next was Conservative hopeful Claire Rattée at 35.4 per cent, while Jhah Lakhwinder of the Liberals was third at 8.0 per cent.
Bachrach was first elected to Parliament in 2019, with 40.9 per cent of the vote. Placing second was Rattée at 33.2 per cent.
The riding is in northwestern B.C., bordering on the Yukon. It encompasses the Stikine region, as well as Prince Rupert, Terrace and Smithers.
NDP MP Nathan Cullen held the seat from 2004 until 2019, when he announced that he would be stepping down from the role.
