Quebec City man arrested after woman found dead in apartment

A woman has been found dead in a Quebec City apartment and police say the main suspect in her killing has turned himself in.

Quebec City police say they received a call at about 2 a.m. Tuesday about a domestic dispute.

When they arrived at the apartment in the Limoilou district they found the body of a woman in her 50s that showed signs of violence.

The victim has been identified as Nathalie Piché, 55.

Police say the man, who had been considered an important witness, appeared at the police station at about 4 a.m. and was arrested after speaking with investigators.

They say the suspect, who is in his 30s, will likely face a murder charge.

Police say they sent a forensic unit and a canine unit to the scene to aid investigators in piecing together what happened.
