10-year-old girl in life-threatening condition after being hit by SUV in Mississauga

Peel Regional Police say a 10-year-old has been rushed to a trauma centre after being hit by a SUV in Mississauga Friday afternoon.

Emergency crews were called to Erin Mills Parkway and Battleford Road, north of Brittania Road West, just before 1:15 p.m. after a vehicle turning onto Battleford Road struck the girl as well as a 13-year-old girl

Peel Paramedics said the girl was taken to SickKids Hospital in serious, life-threatening condition.

A police spokesperson said the 13-year-old was treated for minor injuries.

The spokesperson said the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

Road closures are in place for the investigation and motorists are advised to use alternate routes.
