Police are investigating after human remains were found Friday morning in Dartmouth.
In a Saturday afternoon update, Halifax Regional Police said they have cleared the scene on Elliott Street.
“We would like to thank members of the public and local residents for their patience as police completed their work in the area during this period,” read the news release.
“We recognize this has come as disturbing news for the community.”
HRP received a report around 10:30 a.m. on Friday that what is believed to be human remains were found in a wooded area near Elliott Street in Dartmouth.
Police say no further information is available and the investigation is ongoing.
Anyone with information on the remains is asked to contact police.
