Police say officers responded to reports that a man had been shot in an apartment in the 1-100 block of Glen Moir Terrace at approximately 11:30 p.m.

Police say two men allegedly wearing dark clothing and masks shot and abducted a 42-year-old man.

The men then stole the man’s vehicle to escape the scene, taking the 42-year-old with them.

Halifax Regional Police say the victim was located by police a short distance away from the scene where he was transported to hospital with unspecified but non-life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle taken by the two men, described as a white 2014 Dodge Caravan cargo van, has not been found.

The van is said to have white window tinting covering the rear of the vehicle while the driver’s side window has a no-smoking decal on it.

Halifax police don’t believe the incident was a random act.

In an email, Const. John McLeod told Global News that he did not have any additional information to share.

He said the investigation is in its early stages but that there is no evidence at this time to suggest the incident is related to another.

“Investigators will continue to gather the evidence and follow all leads where it takes them,” wrote McLeod.

Police are asking anyone with information on the incident to call investigators at 902-490-5020 or to contact Crime Stoppers.
