Man in custody after barricading himself inside home in York region: police

York police say a man has been taken into custody after he barricaded himself inside a home in the region on Friday.

Police told Global News officers responded to a call around 1:40 a.m. for a domestic-related incident in the Henderson and Child drives.

Police said no one else was in the home but that the man was refusing to surrender.

Just before 8:30 a.m., police said the man was taken into custody.

Police said there was no risk to public safety.
