A man from the United States has died after a stabbing in east-end Toronto Wednesday afternoon, officials say.
Emergency crews were called to an apartment building on Eglinton Avenue East, just west of Midland Avenue, at around 5:10 p.m.
Toronto Paramedics took the victim to a hospital in serious condition. Officials said the man’s condition worsened on the way to the hospital where he later died.
Investigators have identified the victim as 25-year-old Mohamed Jeylani from Minnesota, U.S.
Police said officers were searching for a man believed to be about 20 to 25 years old, five-feet-eleven inches tall with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a dark hooded top and light-coloured pants at the time of the stabbing.
