A 68-year-old man is in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle while walking in Montreal’s west end on Wednesday afternoon.
Montreal police say the pedestrian was hit around 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of Sherbrooke Street and Grey Avenue in the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce area.

The victim, who suffered injuries to his upper body, was conscious when he was taken to hospital. He remains in critical condition as of 3 p.m.
Police say the driver of the car, a 69-year-old man, was stopped by officers. He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not serious.
A stretch of Sherbrooke Street is off limits to traffic as police remain at the scene.
An investigation is underway.
