Christina Ricci talks about working solo, loving reality TV

TORONTO — Christina Ricci has only one complaint about stepping into the role of Vexy in The Smurfs 2: She never worked with the woman who voiced Smurfette.

“I’ve never met Katy Perry and [in the movie] I’m with her constantly and it’s the two of us becoming sisters and bonding and having fun together,” Ricci told Global’s The Morning Show. “So it’s really kind of a funny concept when you think about it.”

The 33-year-old actress, who is best known for her roles in 1991’s The Addams Family and last year’s short-lived TV series Pan Am, also revealed her guilty pleasure.

“I happen to be one of those people who loves reality television and I’m not ashamed to say it,” she said, admitting she is a fan of the Real Housewives shows. “I like all the Housewives. My favourite one is O.C. because they’re so different from anybody I’ve ever known. It just seems like a totally different world.”

In a separate interview with The Morning Show, The Smurfs 2 star Neil Patrick Harris said his guilty pleasure is the reality show Storage Wars.

“It’s like crack cocaine,” he said. “You watch it one time and then you just have to keep smoking that show over and over.”
