A GoFundMe campaign has raised thousands of dollars for the family of a worker killed in Friday’s partial building collapse in southwest London, Ont.
Henry Harder was one of two people who died in the accident, which happened just before noon at 555 Teeple Terrace., the site of Nest on Wonderland, which is currently under construction.
Five others were also injured.
The GoFundMe page says Harder leaves behind his wife and their three-week-old baby.
As of 1:40 p.m. Sunday, more than 700 people donated a total of over $62,000, surpassing the goal of $25,000.
All money will go directly to the family, according to the page.
The other deceased has been identified as John Martens by the Lighthouse Gospel Church in Port Burwell.
According to his obituary, Martens was 21-years-old. He was from Langton.
The Lighthouse Gospel Church said on Facebook his funeral will be held at the church at a later date.
Another GoFundMe page was created by East Elgin Concrete Forming Ltd. to support “families and individuals that have been and continue to be directly impacted.”
As of 1:40 p.m. Sunday, it has raised more than $54,000.
