Man in life-threatening condition after shooting outside Pickering home: police

Durham Regional Police say a man is in life-threatening condition after a shooting in Pickering on Friday.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at a townhouse complex near Sheppard Avenue at around 12:30 p.m.

Police said a man in his 30s was shot multiple times on the doorstep of a home in the area and was taken to a Toronto trauma centre.

Officers said they have reviewed surveillance video and are now looking for a male suspect who was wearing all dark clothing, shorts, and a hoodie at the time.

The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a silver Dodge Caliber.

The shooting, which happened near a high school and daycare centre, is believed to have been targeted, police said.
