A Peterborough woman has been arrested and charged following an early morning stabbing in the city on Friday.
According to the Peterborough Police Service, around 12:50 a.m. officers responded to a Hunter Street residence regarding an individual that had been stabbed.
The male victim was taken via ambulance to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, police said Friday afternoon.
As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old woman was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and failure to comply with a probation order.
She was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court later Friday, police said.
Police say the woman and the victim were in a previous domestic relationship. In order to protect the identity of the victim, the name of the accused will not be released.
Police say investigators were at two scenes – one on Hunter Street, the other on Stewart Street.
