Record rainfall leads to partial collapse of building in Etobicoke

TORONTO – A large part of a building in Etobicoke has collapsed due to water damage caused by unprecedented rainfall and flooding.

The roof and one wall of a warehouse at 62 Belfield Road collapsed Monday amid torrential rainfall throughout the day.

No one was hurt by the collapse.

Emergency crews originally responded to the collapse overnight but have returned Tuesday afternoon.

Enbridge officials are also investigating due to reports of gas in the area.
