References to iPhone 6, iOS 7 seen in Apple developer log

TORONTO – No sooner does the iPhone 5 roll out to consumers worldwide, do the iPhone 6 rumours begin.

According to a report by The Next Web, developer logs shown to the website show that Apple is testing a new device with an “iPhone 6.1” identifier, running on a new iOS 7 operating system.

Apple’s current phone, the iPhone 5, uses the identifier “iPhone 5.1” or “iPhone 5.2,” depending on the LTE model and the 4G bands that it operates on.

“From the developer logs that we have seen, the app requests originate from an IP address on Apple’s Cupertino campus, suggesting that members of Apple’s software development and app teams are compatibility testing some of the more popular or well-known applications already on the App Store,” read the report by The Next Web.

The leak provided no specifics on hardware or software features of the phone.
