RCMP have arrested one man in connection with the kidnapping of a male in Lloydminster.

It happened on June 27, 2010 when the victim was forced into a vehicle in downtown Lloydminster and then driven to Lashburn, Saskatchewan where he was beaten before escaping on foot to a local residence.

Police say this was a targeted kidnapping related to drugs and not a random incident.

52-year-old Michel Lemire of Lloydminster has been charged with kidnapping, assault causing bodily harm and uttering death threats. He is scheduled to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court Monday morning.

Arrest warrants have been issued on the same charges for Dallas Gassner, 27-years-old, and David Perrett, 30-years-old, both of Lloydminster. Police say both men should be considered dangerous and not approched.
