Strathmore RCMP say two people were killed in a crash east of Calgary on Wednesday.
The crash happened on Highway 560 (Glenmore Trail) and Range Road 281, between Calgary and Langdon, at around 9:30 a.m.
RCMP said preliminary investigation shows a tow truck was heading east on Glenmore Trail west of Highway 791 when it lost control and collided with an SUV that was also travelling on Glenmore Trail.

RCMP said the driver and passenger of the SUV were killed at the scene. The driver of the tow truck was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the RCMP.
RCMP said there were icy patches on the road at the time of the collision, but the cause remains under investigation.
The hamlet of Langdon, located in Rocky View County, is about 15 kilometres east of Calgary.
A section of Highway 560 west of Secondary Highway 791 has been closed due to the collision.
