4 shot, 2 fatally, after funeral in Florida: police

Authorities are responding after four people were shot following a funeral in Riviera Beach, Fla.

According to the Riviera Beach Police Department, a man and a 15-year-old boy died at the scene. Two females are being treated in hospital.

The police force said in a statement that the shooting took place about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

They added that no arrests have been made.

A senior pastor with Victory City Church, where the funeral was held, said the shooting occurred across the street and didn’t involve any of its members.

“We solicit the prayers of the saints today as we mourn the (loss) of two young black men to a senseless shooting after a funeral held here at the church,” Tywuante D. Lupoe said in a Facebook post.

Riviera Beach is located in West Palm Beach County on Florida’s east coast.

The shooting comes just over a month after a gunman opened fire in a church outside Fort Worth, Texas.
