CALGARY- RCMP have laid 13 new charges against a 30-year-old man arrested after an armed robbery, carjacking and police pursuit.

The additional charges against Andrew Waunch include robbery, theft, kidnapping and flight from police. He was already charged with attempted murder.

The hunt for Waunch began more than a week ago after an armed robbery in Sylvan Lake.

Waunch and his alleged accomplice, 23-year-old Ashley Chambers, were described as armed and dangerous in a public alert.

Waunch was arrested by Red Deer RCMP early Monday morning after a carjacking at a trailer park and a police pursuit, during which several shots were fired at RCMP vehicles.

Waunch was eventually arrested after RCMP laid down a spike belt.

Ashley Chambers remains at large and police warn she should not be approached.
