Det.-Const Alexandra Marks of the Sex Crimes Child Exploitation Unit said the 64-year old Efren Chimbo was initially charged after he allegedly invited two underage girls to his home on Rogers Road and Dufferin Street for a photo shoot in May.

“During the session, the man videotaped them without their knowledge or consent,” Marks said in a news conference on Wednesday. “One female was sexually assaulted.”

Chimbo was charged with sexual assault, voyeurism, making child pornography and possession of child pornography.

Marks said four additional victims came forward following his arrest, one of which was underage.

The woman alleged they were invited to his home between the years of 2011 to 2019 and were either sexually assaulted or videotaped without their consent, investigators said.

Police then additionally charged Chimbo with three counts of sexual assault and two counts of voyeurism.

Marks said police ceased the equipment from Chimbo’s home and found video of women who have yet to be identified. She asked those who may have been a victim to come to police “without judgement.”

“I am asking anyone who has attended Mr. Chimbo’s residence for photographs, who have not yet contacted us to please do so,” Marks said. “We would like to identify these women and hear their stories.”

Police said he was known in the Latino community, but did not target a specific group. They are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.

Chimbo is set to appear in a Toronto courtroom on Jan. 21, 2020.
