Air Canada plane lands safely in Connecticut following reports of cracked windshield

An Air Canada plane has landed safely at Bradley International Airport in Connecticut following media reports of a cracked windshield and smoke inside the cockpit, Connecticut Airport Authority said.

There were no injuries, but emergency crews were initially called as a precautionary measure, according to a Jazz Aviation statement.

Air Canada Express flight 8842, operated by Jazz Aviation, experienced an issue with a cracked windshield and smoke in the flight deck shortly before landing, the statement read.

The airport authority told Global News in an email the plane landed at approximately 3:30 p.m. local time Monday.

Jazz Aviation said they were investigating the cause of the incident.

The flight was scheduled to land in Windsor Locks, Conn., according to Flightradar, an online flight tracker.
