‘It’s not unchristian, it’s real life’; Kelowna pastor speaks out about homelessness

Tim Schroeder is a pastor at Trinity Baptist Church in Kelowna. He wrote an op-ed for the local paper focusing on the community's problems surrounding homelessness. In it, he is critical of "all the free meals, shelters and clothing drives" and wet supportive housing facilities. He also writes that "those who simply do not want the responsibility of paying their own way in life ... let’s make Kelowna a very unwelcome place for them."

Tim Schroeder is used to preaching before thousands who attend services at Trinity Baptist Church in Kelowna.

But his words about the homeless crisis are expected to reach a much wider audience as many look for answers on how to deal with the escalating problems.
