Rock on the Range returning to Winnipeg

Despite an onslaught of rain, sleet and wind, thousands of music lovers packed Canad Inns Stadium last year for the first ever Canadian edition of Rock on the Range.

After the enthusiastic display from fans, organizers promised to bring the festival back to Winnipeg.

Now, MTS has signed on as a new title sponsor for the event until 2012, with the rock festival now being known as MTS Rock on the Range Canada.

This year’s headliners include Stone Temple Pilots, Godsmack, Three Days Grace, Buckcherry and more than a dozen other acts.

The musicians will perform on two stages at the football stadium.

Winnipeg’s very own Domenica will also have the chance to play in front of a hometown crowd.

This year’s festival takes place August 7, once again at Canad Inns Stadium.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, March 27 at 10 a.m. and are available at Ticketmaster.

Prices range from $40 to $150.
