One man is dead following a dispute that took place in Mono, Ont. during the early morning hours of Friday, Dufferin OPP say.
Officers and EMS attended the scene at a home on Hurontario Street just after 4:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a dispute.
“They’re known to each other,” Dufferin OPP Const. Shannon Gordanier said. “That’s why there is no threat to the public.”
Taranjit Singh, 50, was found dead at the scene, OPP say, and Anmol Saggu, 27, from Brampton, has been charged with second-degree murder, assault and failure to comply with a probation order.
Police say the accused appeared at the Ontario Court of Justice on Saturday and was remanded in custody. According to officers, a publication ban has been imposed by the court and no further information will be released at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
