Charges laid in shooting believed to be gang-related: Prince Albert police

Prince Albert, Sask., police believe a shooting on Tuesday is gang-related.

An 18-year-old woman with a gunshot wound was found in a vehicle just before noon in the 700-block of 32nd Street East.

She is currently in stable condition at Victoria Hospital.

Investigators believe the shooting occurred in the 1400-block of Marquis Road East, according to a press release.

Another vehicle police said was involved was located in the 1400-block of 28th Street East. Officers took several people into custody.

Police said Wednesday they have charged a man and a woman in connection to the shooting.

The 23-year-old man is facing charges of aggravated assault, participation in a criminal organization and various firearm-related offences.

The 24-year-old woman is facing a count of careless storage of a firearm and two drug charges.

Both are scheduled to appear in Prince Albert provincial court on Thursday.

Police said more charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
